Masterclasses with the orchestra  

 

There is a still growing number of pianists who take part in piano competitions  

 

For most of them the last stage of a competition is the first contact with an orchestra  

 

Paderewski Music Association decided to create Paderewski Piano Academy to give the opportunity for young pianists to develop the ability of playing with the orchestra  

 

Such an initiative is unique in the world  

 

Artistic director: Prof. Ilja Scheps ( Cologne University of Music)  

 

When?  

Two groups in two weeks: August 10th - 16th, 17th - 23rd  

(12 students in each week)  

 

What?  

One week of rehearsals with an orchestra (5 days – 35 minutes for each student every day)  

Gala concerts on Saturday and Sunday for the best students  

Masterclasses with world class professors: remarks during rehearsals and 5 lessons (1/2h)  

August 10th - 16th – prof. Andrzej Jasiński and prof. Ilja Scheps  

August 17th - 23rd – prof. Einar Steen-Nøkleberg and prof. Ilja Scheps  

You will have lessons with both professors  

 

Who can participate?  

Young pianist of all nationalities

Fill in the application form from the website and supply references from a well-known musician  

 

Dead line for applications: June 15th, 2009  

 

Fee:  

The pianists invited to take part in the PPA should pay the fee of 990 €  

Hotel-palace (full board) included  

Lessons and practising in Music Academy (Bydgoszcz)  

(We do not reimburse travelling expenses)
