REPERTOIRE FOR PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS (maximum - 30 minutes)

1. The competitors of preliminary auditions shall perform:

* 2 virtuoso etudes (one of them must be by F. Chopin)

* the first or more movements of a classical sonata (yet always inclusively with the first movement)

* one or two works of competitor’s choice, in different styles, but not from the classical style.

 

2.  Only in exceptional cases – a pianist who on some well substantiated grounds proves he/she is incapable of participating in the Preliminary Auditions, should send the recording presenting the Preliminary Auditions repertoire on DVD or VHS (PAL or NTSC)  accompanied by all required application documents by May 31st, 2010 to the I. J. Paderewski Music Association address.

 

NOTICE: The recording shall present the performance of the pianist’s hands, his/her whole silhouette and right profile; it shall be taken with one camera, without any editing. To improve sound quality the use of external microphones is advised. The recording shall be signed by the applicant and its authenticity must be confirmed by the pianist’s recent professor or other known musician.  Said confirmation shall also contain a telephone number, facilitating - if need be - direct contact.

 

RESULTS:

1. The applicants shall be informed about the results of the Preliminary Auditions by July 31st, 2010.

2. No more than 40 pianists shall be admitted to the Competition.

3. The pianist invited to take part in the Competition shall send entrance fee of  € 100,-  to the Music Association account number, by August 31st, 2010:
